The project will provide a new refectory and over 700 en-suite bedrooms divided into 75 flats over two buildings. This is set for occupation in September 2014. Following the successful signing of the construction contract with Laing O'Rourke, we have been rapidly producing the construction information to allow manufacture of the structure at the Bison and EIP facilities. Key to this project has been our full multidisciplinary BIM model with M&E and Architecture to ensure a coordinated structural model is set with embedded DFMA information. This has allowed direct manufacture of the precast columns, lattice planks and twin wall. Work is progressing on site with the majority of the substructure complete and the precast frame being erected at both ends of the site.
