Tom Martin

Associate MSC BEng CEng MIStructE

Tom has over ten years’ experience in the construction industry, having joined Mann Williams following a period working for Alistair Burroughs Design Partnership. Prior to this, he completed a degree in Architectural Engineering and a masters in Structural Engineering at Cardiff University.

His broad experience includes innovative projects such as the Coed Cymru-led research project, Ty Unnos, where novel structural timber solutions were developed using low-grade home grown timber, as well as a range of commercial developments and infrastructure projects.

Since joining Mann Williams, Tom has gained experience in conservation engineering by working on a variety of listed buildings, scheduled monuments and historic landscapes. This has included residential and commercial developments within historic structures, often incorporating contemporary architecture and modern materials, as well as projects to conserve and secure historic buildings and restoring historic parkland landscapes.

Tom also tutors at the Welsh School of Architecture, providing structural guidance to undergraduate architecture students.
