Pat Ruddock

Director CEng, BSc (Hons), MIStructE, Conservation Accredited Engineer

Pat’s focus is on creative conservation of historic buildings and structures. These include nationally significant buildings and monuments from the Neolithic period to the Second World War, as well as local community projects to rejuvenate derelict landmarks.

Pat believes that communicating clearly to others how structures work is vital. This approach is clear in how he develops innovative solutions with architects, encourages jargon-free discussion with clients, trains up young engineers joining the practice, and tutors final year students at the Welsh School of Architecture are all part of this.

His experience ranges from arts buildings to castles, church projects to rescuing derelict and dangerous structures. The common thread throughout is engineering creativity: making buildings and places that work exceptionally well for their users, both now and in the future.
