Jeff Stott

Director BA (Hons), CEng, MIStructE, CARE Accredited Conservation Engineer

After completing his first degree in History of Modern Art and Design, Jeff went on to study Structural Engineering at the University of the West of England. He is a CARE accredited engineer and visiting lecturer at the University of Bath, Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff and ICCROM in Rome.

A specialisation in conservation sometimes masks Jeff’s genuine concern for good design. This passion can be found in the philosophical points he raises regarding structural intervention and interference with culturally important historic structures.

This strong belief that both the conservation of historic structures and the development of modern languages in architecture are equally valuable, has placed Jeff at the centre of developments that protect historic buildings through regeneration; examples of which are the redevelopment of the Grade 1 listed Guildhall in Bristol and the work at Strawberry Hill in Twickenham.
